New RF tuner IC offers global TV standard support and low power consumption.
MaxLinear has released a low-power hybrid digital/analog silicon tuner designed for high-performance hybrid TV designs requiring analog as well as digital performance.
Targeting the next generation of small and large screen television applications MaxLinear has released a low-power hybrid digital/analog silicon tuner designed for high-performance hybrid TV designs requiring analog as well as digital performance. Offering much lower power consumption than currently available tuners that often consume up to 1.5 watts, the MaxLinear MxL301RF consumes a mere 400 mW yet offers a host of built-in features such as a SAW filter function, LNAs, tracking and loop filters.
The MxL301RF supports multiple software configurable standards, which enable TV manufacturers to design a single front end suitable for all global markets with the flexibility for easy configuration to meet particular market requirements. The new tuner IC supports major analog and digital TV standards, including ATSC, DVB-T, DVB-H, ISDB-T 13-segment, DMB-T (H), NTSC, PAL and SECAM. The device also supports digital cable standards including ITU-T J.83 Annexes A and C [DVB-C] for Europe, China and India and Annex B [North American Cable], DOCSIS, and EURODOCSIS as well as digital terrestrial reception standards (DVB-T/H, ATSC, ISDB-T and DTMB).
The MxL301RF is sampling now and will be available in limited production quantities before the end of the year. For full deatils please use the more information request below.
