High-end displays such as those used in medical diagnostic equipment and in the movie and advertising industries demand especially high resolutions. Addressing this requirement Sharp Microelectronics offers Ultra High Resolution 3840 x 2160 pixel LCD panels that provide more than four times the resolution of Full HD. Sharp’s Ultra High Resolution display portfolio currently comprises the 60-inch diagonal LK601R3LA19 and the 31.5-inch diagonal LQ315D1LG91. A 70-inch variant and an enhanced 60-inch diagonal variant are scheduled to be added to the range in H2 2012.
And for Video Walls……..
Sharp will soon also be offering TFT LCD modules especially suited for use in monitors destined for video wall applications. Featuring brightness levels of 1,500 cd/m² and 700 cd/m² the new 60 inch diagonal screen LK600D3LB14 module is designed with a special chassis and an asymmetrical frame with thickness of only 2.4 mm and 4.1 mm, each on two sides. The resulting 6.5 mm total ligament width enables the modular construction of almost seamless large-scale displays in any desired size
Samples of the LK601R3LA19 and LQ315D1LG91 UHR panels, and of the LK600D3LB14 are available. Series production is scheduled to start in the first quarter of 2012.
