New MOSFETs are Optimised for VoIP Equipment Applications
Diodes Inc has introduced a pair of N-channel MOSFETs that target Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) communications equipment applications.
Diodes Inc., a developer of high-quality application specific discrete and analog semiconductors, has introduced a pair of N-channel MOSFETs specifically targeted at Voice-over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) communications equipment applications.
Specifically designed to meet the stringent requirements of the primary switch position in transformer based Subscriber Line Interface Circuits (SLIC) with DC/DC converters, the ZXMN15A27K and ZXMN20B28K MOSFETs offer engineers a more rugged solution that significantly reduces circuit complexity and cost when designing VoIP applications. Such applications include – but are not limited to - voice over broadband systems; PBX systems; and Cable and DSL gateways.
The new ZXMN15A27K and ZXMN20B28K MOSFETs feature breakdown voltages (BVDSS) of 150V and 200V, respectively: Both devices are able to withstand the high pulse avalanche energy and commutation modes in the SLIC environment, eliminating the usual requirement for additional protection circuitry. Combined with the right choice of transformer, the new Diodes Inc. MOSFETs are capable of driving line voltages beyond 150V and supplying multiple subscriber lines at loop lengths exceeding 6km.
The low input capacitance of the ZXMN15A27K and ZXMN20B28K MOSFETs makes them particularly easy to drive directly from the SLIC controlled IC with minimal or no buffering, a feature that simplifies circuit design and further reduces component count and cost. The ZXMN20B28K device is also capable of low gate drive at logic level.
