LiquidHD Software Development Kit

LiquidHD Developer's Kit

Complete solution for integrating LiquidHD technologyinto source devices

Silicon Image offers a comprehensive LiquidHD development environment, enabling source devices to share their content and user interfaces on a LiquidHD network. LiquidHD technology is a new standard for connecting home entertainment devices. It defines a family of protocols for devices to self-configure, automatically discover one another, stream high-definition audio and video content, and share their user interfaces with displays in a pixel-accurate manner. LiquidHD technology enables manufacturers and service providers to offer solutions like multi-room DVR, video-on-demand and Internet accessibility.

The LiquidHD Developer’s Kit provides the fastest method for enhancing source devices with LiquidHD capability. It allows developers to create innovative applications and to test and validate them on a LiquidHD network. The LiquidHD Developer’s Kit includes a LiquidHD SDK, LiquidHD micro client set-top boxes, a LiquidHD remote control, a Wireshark network analyzer and a LiquidHD Developer's Kit user manual. This toolkit enables today’s most popular set-top boxes, residential gateways, hard-disk recorders, and other consumer electronics content devices to function as servers of multi-session high-definition audio and video.

The LiquidHD SDK encapsulates all LiquidHD functionalities inside well-defined, modular and portable libraries. It provides high-level APIs and enables multi-session application development for LiquidHD. The source SDK also includes sample LiquidHD applications and a user’s guide for reference. The LiquidHD micro clients are low-cost set-top boxes that ensure connectivity between legacy TVs and the LiquidHD network. Each set-top box is a fully-compliant standalone LiquidHD client device that can efficiently communicate with the server, decode high definition content and render a pixel-accurate user interface.

The LiquidHD micro clients all support a variety of different network physical layers such as coaxial, Ethernet, power line and wireless.

Lastly, a Wireshark network analyzer with LiquidHD extensions is also included. This is the ideal tool for monitoring the traffic on the LiquidHD network and analyzing network packets.
